In my half-decade of experience in newsrooms like CNBC, Bloomberg, and Money, I’ve covered everything from Taylor Swift’s battle for her master recordings to the initial breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic, presidential election debates, and the meteoric rise and fall of GameStop’s stock in 2021.
But no matter the topic, my writing and editing have always been about the one thing that fascinates me most: money. It’s the center of what we prioritize, battle over, and covet, whether we’re everyday people just trying to get by or massive corporations.
Whether I’m writing about legislative changes that could upend how we save for retirement, the booming tech IPO market, or how Gen Z is making crypto part of their savings plans, I love to dig into how money makes people tick, for better or worse. Sometimes this comes in the form of long-term features with details from real-life people and their wallets, and other times it looks more like a ranking of the best mutual funds or a guide on how to earn interest on your cash.
My bylines have appeared in Barron’s, The Bond Buyer, Kiplinger, AARP, CNN Underscored, USA Today, Buy Side from The Wall Street Journal, and many more. As a former editor at Money, I oversaw all the publication’s investing coverage and wrote a weekly newsletter making news about stocks, bonds, and crypto easy (and enjoyable) to understand.
In 2023, I ventured out on my own. In addition to continuing my work as an editor and writer for top-tier outlets, I wanted to team up with brands looking to boost their content and media strategies. Now, I work in traditional journalism spaces as well as for businesses, academic institutions, solopreneurs, and more.
I studied business and economic reporting and was a McGraw Scholar at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. Before that, I received my bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College where I studied creative nonfiction. These days, I’m based in Chicago where you’ll find me perusing my local bookshops, keeping up with all the latest binge-worthy television, and getting out into nature with my dog Moose.
